Islam is a comprehensive way of life that directs every facet of our everyday existence, from our prayer to our interactions with others. Being a better Muslim requires small, consistent, sincere actions done for Allah’s (SWT) sake rather than making significant changes all at once. Here’s how you can make it a daily goal to be a better Muslim.
- Develop a closer bond with Allah (SWT)
The relationship between a servant and their Creator is essential to Islam. Reaffirm your intention (niyyah) to live for Allah’s sake at the start of each day.
* Pray on Time: The foundation of our faith is salah, or prayer. Try to pray with khushu (attention and humility) and never skip it.
*Make Dhikr and Dua: Remember Allah while keeping your tongue moist. Simple expressions like Allahu Akbar, Alhamdulillah, and SubhanAllah have great benefits.
2. Read and Reflect on the Qur’an
The Qur’an is meant to be understood and lived, not only read.
. Even five to ten minutes a day should be set out for meaningful Qur’anic reading.
. Reflect on how each verse can apply to your life
. Regularly try to commit little portions to memory and follow its instructions.
3. Observe the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Sunnah.
The greatest human role model is the Prophet ﷺ. We can become better Muslims by taking up his routines, manners, and habits.
. Be gentle, talk softly, and smile a lot.
. Follow the Sunnah when it comes to eating, sleeping, and socializing.
. Learn a new hadith every week and apply it.
4. Develop Your Personality (Akhlaq)

“The best among you are those who have the best manners and character,” the Prophet ﷺ said. (Bukhari)
. Be patient, sincere, and modest.
. Avoid backbiting, lying, or hurting others
. Show kindness to strangers, your neighbors, and your family.
5, Refrain from temptation and sin.
Protecting oneself in a world full with distractions is a daily struggle.
. Keep your modesty intact and look down.
. Even for minor errors, confess your sins frequently. “Yes, Allah loves repentant people.” (Al-Baqarah Surah 2:222)
. Look for halal substitutes in all facets of your life.
6. Regularly Give to Charity (Sadaqah)

Giving in Allah’s way doesn’t always entail financial gain.
. It’s charity, so smile.
. Spread the word—it’s philanthropic.
. It’s charity to help someone who is in need.
Sadaqah multiplies your benefits and cleanses your soul.
7. Be in the Company of Righteous People
Your business is a reflection of who you are. Being surrounded by devout Muslims helps you maintain your commitment to your faith.
. Attend halaqas, or Islamic gatherings.
. Select companions who make you think of Allah.
. On social media, follow Islamic content that strengthens your Imaan.
8. Be Reliable and Offer Up Prayers for Wisdom
Allah (SWT) appreciates modest actions carried out regularly. Consistency is crucial, even if your development seems gradual.
. Every day, ask Allah to “keep my heart firm upon Your religion, O Turner of the hearts.”
. Even if you commit sin, never lose up. Get back up and repent sincerely.
In conclusion
It takes a lifetime to become a better Muslim. It involves making an effort daily, even in tiny ways, to please Allah and live in accordance with His will. Instead of striving for perfection, focus on consistency, sincerity, and growth. Keep in mind that Allah takes many more steps toward you for every step you take in His direction.
“Yes, the angels will descend upon those who have declared, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and then remained firm.” (Fussilat Surah 41:30)
May Allah lead each of us and include us in His ranks of virtuous servants. Ameen.
