Introduction

Hazrat Imam Musa Al-Kadhim (A.S.) is one of these admirable individuals; he is renowned for his exceptional humility, devotion, and patience. His appellation, “Al-Kadhim,” which translates to “the one who controls his anger,” reflects his high moral standards and profound spirituality.
Early Life and Lineage:
In 128 AH (745 CE), Imam Musa Al-Kadhim (A.S.) was born in Abwa, which is situated between Makkah and Madinah. He was directly descended from Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the son of Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (A.S). He showed early indications of great wisdom, piety, and knowledge.
Knowledge and Service to Islam:

Oppression and Imprisonment:
Because of his popularity and sway over the populace, Imam Al-Kadhim (A.S.) was viewed as a threat by the Abbasid rulers during his lifetime, particularly Caliph Harun al-Rashid. The Imam was consequently subjected to severe imprisonment on several occasions. He maintained his patience in the face of injustice, transforming the prison into a site of spiritual fortitude and worship.
Martyrdom:
Harun al-Rashid ordered the ultimate poisoning martyrdom of Imam Al-Kadhim (A.S.) in 183 AH (799 CE). He is laid to rest in Kadhimayn, which is close to Baghdad, Iraq, and is still a popular destination for Muslims worldwide.
